'The programme was excellent: varied - with something for everyone. The performance was absolutely superb, so polished and professional. Everyone was feeling very uplifted...Many thanks to all your members for their commitment and hard work; their talent is certainly put to good use under the direction of the wonderful musical director and accompanist! We raised an amazing £577...but the real joy was the music. Long may you continue to use your gifts for the benefit of others.'

Comments from our performance at the Swaledale Festival included:-

"Superb Choir"; "Such an excellent, varied programme and stunning singing"; "Wonderful! Brilliant! I cried during every piece'; "Thank you. We loved it."

Many of our concerts enable the hosts to raise money for particular causes. Below are a few examples of what others have said about our performances and the money it has helped them to raise.

Northern Voices performed at St Cuthbert's Church in Darlington on the 28th June 2014 and raised the magnificent sum of £1400 for St Teresa's Hospice. Choir members and Musical Director, Gillian Sild (holding cheque on left), are pictured presenting the choir's cheque to Jane Bradshaw (centre front), Director of St Teresa's Hospice.

As a result of the concerts we have helped St Teresa's Hospice organise and the money we have helped raise they very kindly presented us with their 'Excellent Supporter Award', which we are delighted with.

"Your work with the choir must be very demanding to come up with programmes that showcase their undoubted talents. Last night was a triumph - well done indeed!"

"Many congratulations to Gillian Sild and her Northern Voices for the wonderful performance of the oratorio 'Samson' tonight. What a terrific choir - well done to the soloists drawn from the choir - and a special mention to Andrew McAllister, a Hartlepudlean who sang the role of Samson magnificently. What a talent! Lovely to hear Gillian sing a duet with Andrew too."

"Thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening Gill. Thank you for master-minding a great night out."

"Dear Gillian. What a fantastic evening we had last Saturday listening to the Northern Voices choir. It must be such a pleasure to direct singers with such wonderful voices. The programme was perfect for the audience and many of our members told me that whilst we have had good male voice choirs to entertain us in previous years your choir is in a different league altogether"
