Northern Voices performed at St Cuthbert's Church in Darlington and raised the magnificent sum of £1400 for St Teresa's Hospice. Choir members and Musical Director, Gillian Sild (holding cheque on left), are pictured presenting the choir's cheque to Jane Bradshaw (centre front), Director of St Teresa's Hospice.

As a result of the concerts we have helped St Teresa's Hospice organise and the money we have helped raise they very kindly presented us with their 'Excellent Supporter Award', which we are delighted with.

"Thoroughly enjoyed last night. Lovely to hear 'real' singing..You have a lovely choir and some super sopranos, wish we could pinch a few"

"A thoroughly enjoyable evening. The choir made a wonderful sound and the tenors were to die for. Congratulations"

"Your work with the choir must be very demanding to come up with programmes that showcase their undoubted talents. Last night was a triumph - well done indeed!"

"Many congratulations to Gillian Sild and her Northern Voices for the wonderful performance of the oratorio 'Samson' tonight. What a terrific choir - well done to the soloists drawn from the choir - and a special mention to Andrew McAllister, a Hartlepudlean who sang the role of Samson magnificently. What a talent! Lovely to hear Gillian sing a duet with Andrew too."

"Thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening Gill. Thank you for master-minding a great night out."

"We have heard Northern Voices three times and it just gets better and better"

From the Northern Echo

"Funds Success - Members of Darlington & District Soroptimists have raised £1,150 for the charity Toilet Twinning by hosting a special concert by the choir Northern Voices. More than 150 attended the event and organiser Alma Bailey said: "It was an absolutely fantastic evening. The choir was superb and everybody enjoyed it." Toilet Twinning raises funds to help people in poorer countries to have clean water, a decent toilet and lessons in hygiene - with the aim of preventing the spread of disease and the number of deaths among children."

"Wonderful singing and clear diction from a choir of trained singers"

"The quality of the soloists reflected the quality of the choir"

"Dear Gillian. What a fantastic evening we had last Saturday listening to the Northern Voices choir. It must be such a pleasure to direct singers with such wonderful voices. The programme was perfect for the audience and many of our members told me that whilst we have had good male voice choirs to entertain us in previous years your choir is in a different league altogether"
Graham Hampson, Secretary, Hutton Rudby Bowls Club
